✨ The album was recorded in 1971, serving as a powerful follow-up to the group's self-titled debut that helped lay the foundational blueprints for modern hip-hop.
✨ Several tracks on the album heavily critique the socio-political climate of the Nixon-era United States, specifically addressing systemic racism, poverty, and the Vietnam War.
✨ The Last Poets performed their spoken-word poetry over dynamic, complex jazz-funk percussion, utilizing congas and drums to drive their fierce political messages home.
